How do I switch to an alternative time period?

Most organizations include a section for entering PTO or other non-working time at the end of the time study.

Some organizations allow you to choose two consecutive alternative weeks for quarterly time studies if the scheduled weeks are unsuitable. After selecting one week, the second is automatically assigned. Alternative dates cannot be selected until that week has started.

Check your Dashboard to see if this option is available to you. If it is, you'll see a blue instructional banner at the top.

Scheduled time periods

View scheduled weeks in the Upcoming section on your Dashboard.

If you complete one default week, you must also complete the other for that quarter.

Switching to an alternative time period

To switch to an alternative time period, open your scheduled week. At the top of the time study, find the Optional Time Periods bar and its dropdown.

Select the desired week from the dropdown. The system will auto-assign you to the next consecutive week.

Important: Click Select these dates before entering your hours.

Choosing a future week

Alternative weeks won't appear in the dropdown until they start. You'll need to wait for the week to arrive before selecting it.

Why can't I choose a different week?

1. If you've already chosen:
   • A scheduled week this quarter — you can't select an optional week for your second week.
   • An alternative week this quarter — you're assigned the next consecutive week and can't change it. To start over with new dates, your time study program administrator must reset them, which will erase your current data. If you're unsure who your administrator is, submit a support ticket for help.
2. This feature isn't available for all organizations. If you can't access it, look at the bottom of your time study for an option to enter PTO hours instead.
